Tainanist always encourage any rational discussions, even debates, on public policies. Particularly on the ones that chase invisible others away from those promising profit-making land with violent. In this case, Loshengist have been fighting against irrational , if not inhuman policy on destroying the longstanding 90-years-old Losheng Sanatorium that witnesses the history of Leprosy treatment on the Isles of Formosa as well as the world.
It is certainly a fight against an uncritical echo of the hardware-development-rules ideology, but not as simple as that. The site is , from the anthropological perspective, where the geomantic earth of the Sinjhuang city is. While most of the Sinjhuang citizens might enthusiastically arrange elements at home hoping for good fortunes, they are eager to get rid of the bigger scale of the feng-shui force that has been protecting the area for centuries.
Needlessly to mention something much sour, such it is the only greenery left for the city or human rights v.s. nation machine. Most of all, it doesn't even have to sacrifice the 30% remain of the Sanatorium. The underground can still be completed and switch-on on time without tearing down the historic buildings and memories.
But, it is hardly a place for pathetic. It is a place where full of joy of religious, songs of content and giggles of happiness, where -ists are all welcome and always a seat for you, to sign, to laugh, and to think.
On Saturday the 17th of May, and Sunday the 18th of May, Let's visit Losheng Sanatorium and support the Loshengist with our songs.
